Devin Haney Dominates George Kambosos in Undisputed Rematch!

Returning to the scene of his greatest career achievement was undisputed 135-pound champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (29-0, 15KOs) against former unified champion “Ferocious” George Kambosos (20-2, 10KOs). After dominating their first fight, The Dream sought to replicate that performance with an even more dominating performance in the sequel. While their premier bout didn’t wow fans, Kambosos exercised his rematch clause, thus giving us the rematch.

Kambosos, fighting for the second consecutive time in his home country of Australia, sought redemption and revenge. Completely neutralized and stymied in fight number one, Ferocious hoped that a change in trainer would help elevate him to the level needed to conquer his American adversary.

ACTION EARLY!

The first two rounds of Haney versus Kambosos 2 proved to be more entertaining than the entire first fight. Kambosos, seeking redemption, came out in the first round switching from orthodox to southpaw in an attempt to confuse the undisputed champion. In doing so, he found success as he was able to land some solid shots. However, The Dream would start to get into a rhythm with his jab as he would set up the straight right hand.

HANEY DOMINATES AGAIN!

After settling in, in the second half, Haney would start dishing out a performance similar to the first time around. His jab yet again played a key part as he used it to offset Ferocious as well as set up his right hand. Haney is not known as an offensive fighter, but he let his hands go and landed some hard, thudding shots. Both Haney and Kambosos suffered cuts over their eyes.

After 12 more rounds, Haney would be announced as the winner yet again via a dominating unanimous decision. The scores were 119-109 and 118-110 twice. With the win, The Dream left no doubt about who’s the superior fighter. Now with the Kambosos chapter behind him, even bigger fights await him.
