Eduardo “Rocky” Hernandez gets a stoppage in his American debut!
Highly touted super featherweight prospect Rocky Hernandez made easy work of Ibrahim Class.
In the opening stanza, Hernandez came out applying pressure to his taller adversary. This forced Class to attempt to fight on his back-foot. However, in round two the pressure would be too much for the Tanzanian fighter.
After a powerful left hook connected it was downhill from there. A knockdown would result a few moments later. Class however, would gather himself and make it to his feet.
Unfortunately for him, he wouldn’t fare any better; getting dropped again by a powerful right uppercut.
After not attempting to get up for a second time, the referee reached the ten count and waved off the fight.
At the age of 21, Hernandez has gotten much attention as the next Mexican fighter to be as big as Canelo Alvarez. The biggest criticism was his lack of not traveling out of Mexico as he built a 27-0 record there.
After improving to 28-0 with 25 knockouts, fans and pundits will be looking for a step up in competition for the young, talented and extremely popular Hernandez as he journeys down that path to stardom!
