If things weren’t already bad for Daigo Higa they just got worse!
Yesterday, his boxing license was suspended by the Japanese Boxing Commission (JBC) indefinitely after failing to make weight for his WBC Flyweight title defense against Cristofer Rosales earlier this month.
At the weigh-in he came in two pounds over the Flyweight limit. This resulted in him being stripped of his title and fined 20 percent of his purse.
The next day he would suffer his first career defeat; where he was stopped in the ninth round via technical knockout.
There’s a possibility that the JBC could reinstate Higa based on the progress of his condition.
It is also important to note that this is the first time Higa has missed weight in his professional career.
