Bernard Hopkins Offers Adrien Broner a Contract to Face Blair Cobbs

With four-divisional champion Adrien “The Problem” Broner (34-4-1, 24KO) officially a free agent, Golden Boy executive Bernard Hopkins wants to sign him to fight Blair “The Flair” Cobbs (16-1-1, 10KO).

On February 26, Broner took to social media to inform the fans that he severed ties with BLK Prime after a third opponent pulled out. The new free agent is now openly welcoming inquiries from other promotional companies.

HOPKINS MAKES BRONER AN OFFER

The Problem may not have to wait too long before landing a fight contract. During an interview on The Spit Bucket Podcast, Hopkins was excited about the thought of making Broner versus Cobb.

“I’d sign a contract tomorrow and support that fight. Let me tell you, Cobbs and Broner, I think we could sell tickets for the press conference for that. Because Broner can’t help himself, and he’s still a live dog.”

“He’s hungry, and he’s backed up against the wall because he doesn’t want to quit, and they want him to quit, which means retire.”

“I will sign Adrien Broner right now if he agrees the deal is to his satisfaction to fight Blair Cobbs.”

In his last outing, Cobbs scored a huge comeback victory over former WBO junior welterweight champion Maurice Hooker in August 2022. If Broner wants to get back into title contention, a fight with Cobbs is a good opportunity considering his #6 ranking by the WBO.

The ball is in Broner’s court as the offer is on the table, and the fight is there for the taking.
