Kuroda vs Nantapech for IBF Flyweight title eliminator
3kingsboxing has learned that the IBF Flyweight title eliminator will be between #4 rated Komgrich Nantapech (24-5, 15 KOs) vs #5 rated Masayuki Kuroda (30-7-3, 16 KOs)
Nantapech is the current IBF Pan Pacific Flyweight Champion, despite his losses in 2017 to then-champion Donnie Nietes. Later, that same year, he would lose an eliminator bout against Juan Carlos Reveco.
The 29 year old Thailand-based fighter has still managed to stay within range of title contention. Since losing to Reveco, he has won his last two fights by unanimous decision.
Kuroda has won both the Japan light-flyweight and flyweight titles. His first attempt at a world title resulted in defeat against then-WBA champion Reveco, a common foe shared with his opponent.
The 32 year old Japanese boxer is riding the momentum of a six-fight win streak that includes a satisfying revenge victory against Takuya Kogawa.
INTERESTING FACTS
Nantapech has never lost a fight when fighting in Thailand; recording a streak of 23-0, where this contest is staged. Being the harder puncher with experience fighting on the championship level, he is hoping to maintain this streak.
Kuroda will be fighting outside of Japan for only his second time. His first time traveling abroad (2015) resulted in defeat to Mario Andrade in Mexico. However, the edge in height and reach is on his side and he will be looking to play spoiler.
This contest is taking place at Lamphun on November 21st.
