Bipolar Fans Attack Shakur Stevenson Over Potential Zepeda Bout

It seems pleasing boxing fans in this era is extremely hard to do. In addition, fans continuously contradict themselves when their favorite fighter is involved. Such is the case with the rumored upcoming fight featuring WBC lightweight champion Shakur “Fearless” Stevenson and Interim titlist William “Camaron” Zepeda.

According to the boxing grapevine, the two combatants are supposed to fight in July. Now fans are calling out Fearless for cherry-picking Camaron instead of facing champions Gervonta “Tank” Davis or “The Business Man” Keyshawn Davis. This has got to be a kind of joke, especially considering Golden Boy Promotions used Zepeda to lure Stevenson out of so-called retirement for the fight.

Boxing fans must have amnesia because Stevenson has been trying to get Tank in the ring. However, fans claimed that his boring style wouldn’t make for a good fight, and Davis should avoid him. This is the problem with the sport – fans behaving like a protective detail when it comes to today’s fighters.

Fans need to remember that styles make fights. Zepeda’s high-pressure aggression could make the defensive-minded Stevenson fight more, which could make for an entertaining event.
