Why Yokasta Valle Versus Seniesa Estrada Needs To Occur in 2024

The talent pool in women’s boxing is better than ever. As a result, you have the potential for several outstanding fights next year. Arguably, the best women’s matchup in 2024 is a showdown between minimumweight unified champions Yokasta Valle (30-2, 9 KOs) and Seniesa ”Super Bad” Estrada (25-0, 9 KOs).

MAKING IT CLEAR WHO SHE WANTS

Valle successfully defended her two 105-pound world titles with a unanimous decision victory over Anabel Ortiz on November 4 in Costa Rica. Following her win, Valle made no bones about who was at the top of her hitlist.

“The next fight, Seniesa Estrada. She’s the one who has the other belts. I want to be an undisputed champion. That’s what I want.”

WHY IT SHOULD HAPPEN

Valle and Estrada have separated themselves at 105. Both have the same goal of being undisputed and the queen of the minimumweight division.

Additionally, they’ve proven to be two of the elite women’s fighters in the sport. Both are highly skilled and entertaining. You would be hard-pressed to come up with a better matchup in women’s boxing.

More than anything, the ladies want to fight each other. They’ve had their share of heated back-and-forth words over the years. Their rivalry is real. But a stumbling block could be location. Valle wants the fight in her home country of Costa Rica. Hugely popular in her homeland, she feels a fight against Estrada would fill up a 50,000-seat soccer stadium.

Conversely, Estrada wants the match in the United States. Top Rank guides her career. The promotional giant believes that Super Bad is a star in the making. It’s their desire for that potential fight to happen in either Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

STRIKE WHILE THE IRON IS HOT

Wherever it lands, a fight for undisputed at 105 is on the agenda for all parties. Estrada is currently recovering from surgery on her right hand. But once she fully recovers, the hope is that representatives for both champions will get to work to make the fight.

Fans want the best fighting the best. A battle between Valle and Estrada more than fits the bill. It would be a shame if egos and agendas got in the way of it happening. With each in their collective primes, it’s a fight that needs to occur in 2024.
