Dogboe To Make First Title Defense August 25

Isaac Dogboe vs Hidenori Otake

The Royal Storm Isaac Dogboe set to make his return.

3kingsboxing has learned that WBO Super-Bantamweight champion Isaac Dogboe, will be making his first title defense against Hidenori Otake (31-2, 14KO’s).

Dogboe gained notoriety with his surprising knockout victory against Cesar Juarez. This victory put him in line for a title shot and the opportunity to fulfill a life long dream.

Undefeated WBO champion Jessie Magdaleno would be the fighter to give the 23 year-old a shot at becoming a champion. He absolutely did not disappoint and won the title by 11th round knockout back in April.

Since then he has emerged as one of the most exciting fighters in the sport.

Otake, a 37 year-old Japanese fighter, is a tough and durable opponent who has never been knocked out. He is currently on a nine fight winning streak.

In 2014 he lost a bid for a major title against Scott Quigg. He won the OPBF Bantamweight championship in 2017 and made three successful defenses. This will be his second attempt at achieveing a major title.

Paul Dogboe, father and manager to Isaac, is very excited to be headlining this fight on ESPN in the US. He mentioned their future plans are to unify and become the undisputed Super-Bantamweight champion.

This is a Top Rank Rising Star Africa Promotions event. Fans can catch it live on ESPN August 25th in Glendale, Arizona.
