Masayuki Ito to defend WBO title against Jamel Herring
Fresh off a seventh round TKO victory over Evgeny Chuprakov, it appears Masayuki Ito has already found his next opponent.
3kingsboxing.comhas learned former 2012 US Olympian Jamel Herring will be the next to challenge for the title.
Promoter Bob Arum made the announcement recently on twitter after offering congratulations to the champion on his recent victory.
Herring was last seen in December winning a unanimous decision over Adeilson Dos Santos. Since his loss to LaDarius Miller at lightweight in 2017, he moved down a weight class and recorded three straight wins. However, the WBO rankings do not list the U.S marine in the top 15.
This will make Ito’s second defense of his WBO junior lightweight title!
