Ito Eyeing Title Defense in December

Masayuki Ito possible return in December

WBO super featherweight champion Masayuki Ito (24-1-1, 12KO) could possible make a return in December.

The 27 year-old Japanese fighter shocked the world in his US debut defeating a then undefeated Christopher Diaz for the vacate title. These two men left it all in ring in a textbook back and forth, phone booth battle. That was the last time we’ve seen Ito in competition.

He showed that at this level, the ability to rise to the occasion! Although an opponent hasn’t been named, its speculated that he could face #1 rated Evgeny Chuprakov (20-0, 10KO).

This another fight that could end the year is sensational fashion. Moreover, in a division where any fight made is a must watch fan friendly fight.

INTERESTING FACTS

Ito is a former WBC youth and OPBF champion. He lost his only bid at the Japanese title against Rikki Naito in 2015; the only loss of his career.
