Masayuki Ito head to the U.S for training camp!

3kingsboxing previously reported WBO super-featherweight champion Masayuki Ito (24-1-1, 12KOs) will make his first title defense against undefeated Evgeny Chuprakov (20-0, 10 KOs).

Although the bout is in Japan, the champion has decided to hold a five week training camp in Los Angeles. This of course comes only four months after he made his American debut while winning his first world title against Christopher Diaz.

He bears hopes of sparring unified undefeated lightweight champion Mikey Garcia and Fabian Maidana (brother of former champion Marcos Maidana). There is also a possibility of working with trainer Manny Robles. The experience factor alone is huge, especially going into a tough bout.

It’s clear the champion is taking things very serious and understands the task at hand; every preparation is being taken.

This bout is on schedule for Ota-City General Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan on December 30.
