Jaron Ennis Continues to Impress in his Latest Conquest of Thomas Dulorme
Welterweight Jaron “Boots” Ennis (28-0, 26 KO’s) has enjoyed his twenty-eighth victory at the expense of Thomas “Cordero” Dulorme (25-6-1, 16 KO’s). Boots (24), managed to collect the veteran’s scalp by way of first round stoppage.
Ahead of the bout the smart money was on the young lion from Philly to gormandize Dulorme when they collided. This is because there is tremendous expectation for the rising talent. Terrorizing Dulorme by jumping up and down on like him Fat Bastard’s pogo stick as he did will only help to add to his current lore.
The adept switch-hitting knuckle chucker is already ranked #3 (IBF), #5 (WBO), #5 (WBA) and #8 (WBC). This is all without having obtained a signature marquee prizefight. To this point in time, minus those in-ring opportunities, Boots has largely been graded on the eyeball test. Nevertheless, with these extremely favorable standings in the ranking, Ennis is confident that he will secure the top flight bout that he is searching for.
For Dulorme this will come as an especially damaging loss. Not only have his best days evaporated into nothingness, this is his third consecutive defeat. Given the gloomy current trajectory of his career it would not be surprising if Dulorme announced his retirement very soon. Granted that the Puerto Rican remains active it is highly unlikely he’ll tangle with a top tier opponent in his next at bat.
CLEAR DOMINATION
The fight started off at a blistering pace as both men happily tore into one another. Dulorme connected with a beautiful double left hook to the body while Boots sought to stabilize the action with his jab. The tactic worked wonders as he began freezing up some of Dulorme’s zeal to run into the fire. Ennis swung the action in his favor with a thudding overhand right that came clubbing down on Dulorme’s head and sent him to the canvas. The knockdown came just after one minute of action.
The veteran made it to his feet but was obviously operating on heavily compromised legs. To his credit, as Boots swarmed Dulorme to close the show, he ate a massive right hook in the mouth. Not only would Ennis absorb the punch like a champ, a second later he dumped his foe to the ground once again with a nasty right hook, straight right combination of his own. This time, however, Dulorme would not beat the count.
This was a wonderful win for the young fighter who promptly called out every top name in the division…specifically, unified champion Errol Spence Jr!
