Jaron Ennis Calls Out Top Names At 147; Puts Emphasize On Errol Spence Jr
Top-rated welterweight contender Jaron “Boots” Ennis (28-0, 26ko) is a serious threat to anyone in the division. Furthermore, he has a hit list and specifically has targeted unified champion Errol “The Truth” Spence (27-0, 21ko) for his next fight.
The 24 year-old Philadelphia native is viewed by many inside the boxing community as an uncrowned champion. There are several reasons why he is getting such high praise; the primary being how he has been running over quality opponents.
Ennis’ latest victim was former title contender Thomas Dulorme who in his last fight gave former WBA “regular” champion Jamal James all he could handle. Boots ran through the veteran like milk does to a person who’s lactose intolerant. It was a first-round destruction and the reason why fans are eager to see him in the ring with some of the top guys.
The general consensus is he’s high-risk, low reward and the only way he can get a championship fight is by becoming mandatory. Well, he is closing in on that option as we speak.
Ennis is ranked high within all of four major sanctioning bodies. However, he is within striking distance in the IBF, holding down the #3. This means there is a chance a fight with Spence Jr could be mandated by the organization.

TIRED OF WAITING
During the post-fight interview, he was not short for words in making it clear he wants all the top guys.
“I been ready two years ago! Let’s line them up, the top five guys. Spence, (Yordenis) Ugas, (Shawn) Porter, (Terence) Crawford, and Keith Thurman. Y’all know I’m coming!”
Here is where he turned the heat up on, Spence. When asked to narrow down the list to only one name, he put a target on the back of the unified champion.
“I’m ranked number three by the IBF so Errol Spence!”
There is only one obstacle in the way and that is Kudratillo Abdukakhorov ranked in the #1 position by the IBF. Now, Porter is holding down the number two spot, but he is busy with a fight against Crawford for the WBO championship.
Keep in mind at the time of this article, the IBF has yet to update their rankings. If Addukakhorov maintains the top position after the update, there is a chance he could become Spence’s mandatory. However if he were to turn the fight down, Ennis may get his wish. The boxing community can only wait to see will happen next.
