Jermall Charlo Arrested and Charged with Felony Assault
WBC middleweight champion Jermall “Hit Man” Charlo (32-0, 22KOs) is in the news again for all the wrong reasons. The unbeaten champion was arrested Friday in Fort Bend, Texas and charged with felony assault for allegedly assaulting a family/household member. This came after an arrest warrant was issued.
This isn’t the first time he’s been charged in connection with an alleged assault. Back in May of 2020, he was a suspect in an assault investigation.
Charlo recently had charges against him dropped stemming from an August 2021 arrest in San Antonio, Texas. There, he was charged with robbery after he was alleged to have assaulted and taken a waiter’s tips. The older Charlo twin hasn’t fought since June of 2021, and was one of three fighters being considered as a possible opponent for undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez.
Expected to return to the ring soon, it’ll be interesting to see if this latest arrest causes a delay in his 2022 ring debut.
3Kings Boxing will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
