Jermall Charlo Continues to Promise a Big Comeback
After more than two-years out of the ring, WBC middleweight champion Jermall “Hit Man” Charlo (32-0, 22 KO’s) has reached out to his fans via his social media. In that post, while receiving some form of transfusion, the long-inactive boxer pledged to make a successful comeback to the sport. Unfortunately, Charlo did not offer anything close to resembling an opponent or forecasted return date.
“Even though I know it’s been a while, when I get back, I got y’all . . . everything will come back together. I promise!”
REAL TALK, OR MORE OF THE SAME?!
When last in the ring, Jermall Charlo had to earn his pay check against Juan Macias Montiel, who he beat by unanimous decision. Since that time, Hit Man has remained idle on the sidelines, where he’s given remarkably few clues about what’s going on. His brother, undisputed super welterweight champion Jermell Charlo, has stated that he is suffering mental issues as he is undergoing legal battles with the mother of his children.
Even worse, outside of his inactivity, his name value has taken two major hits recently. The first was when his aforementioned brother accepted a fight with undisputed super middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. Before the duel was offered to Jermell, it had to be turned down by Jermall. To follow that up, Caleb Plant smacked Jermall Charlo in a clip that ran rampant on boxing social media circles.
While it’s good to see that Hit Man is beginning to emerge from his cave, a tangible ring return would be better. Let’s not forget that it was roughly one month ago that Charlo supplied a cryptic vow to slide back into the ring this year. Yet, it is over a month later and he is still talking about coming back minus any real detail or substance. Thankfully, no matter what Jermall Charlo’s next move will be, 3Kings Boxing will be here to report the news.
