Jermell Charlo vs Jeison Rosario Unification Deal Reached
WBC junior middleweight champion Jermell Charlo (33-1, 17KOs) could be one step closer to his goal of becoming undisputed champion! Negotiations are underway with unified champion Jeison Rosario (20-1-1, 14KOs). The fight is being targeted for late September as both sides seem to be coming to an agreement. Both men have called for this fight since Rosario’s upset win over former champion Julian “J-Rock” Williams in January.
Charlo recently avenged the only loss in his pro career with a knockout win over Tony Harrison (28-3, 21KOs). The victory allowed him to become a two-time junior middleweight champion.
After receiving the IBF’s approval to bypass his mandatory challenger, Rosario set his sights on adding another belt to his collection. Therefore, a finalized deal is all that remains between fans and this very intriguing and unexpected high stakes unification.
3kingsboxing.com will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates as they become available.
