Jesus Saracho Wins By Split Decision Over Alberto Palmetta
Welterweight fighter Jesus “Junior” Saracho (14-2-1, 11KO) survived a late rally from Alberto “Beto” Palmetta (19-3, 13KO) for the split decision victory.
Beto came out on fire by throwing combination punches behind the jab. He did a good job of getting to the safe spot to punch and retreat to avoid return-fire.
Junior adjusted nicely by mixing up the attack with different variations of the righthand. In addition, he attacked the body and followed it up with some mean uppercuts, winning the early rounds.
In the middle rounds, Palmetta landed a body shot that halted Saracho’s momentum. Understanding Saracho couldn’t handle the pressure, the Argentinian took control of the contest by attacking with shots to the head and body.
After being told they needed a knockout to win the fight, both fighters decided to engage in a shootout. Yet, Saracho got the better end of the exchanges until the final bell.
Two judges gave it to Saracho (97-93, 95-94) with one judge giving it to Palmetta (96-94). 3kingsboxing scored it a draw but is okay with the decision.
