Natasha Jonas Ready For Patricia Berghult Unification Bout!
On September 3, WBO 154-pound champion Natasha Jonas (11-2-1, 8KOs) will take on WBC champion Patricia Berghult (15-0, 3KOs) in a unification bout. Jonas won the vacant title back in February after stopping Chris Namus in two rounds. She will be facing a much better fighter in Berghult as she attempts to collect the WBC belt.
However, heading into this fight, Jonas is seemingly the underdog. Berghult, a naturally bigger woman, heads into this bout with the physical advantage. Although if you ask the WBO champ, that’s not a problem. She will not back down once the two of them step into the ring come fight night.
“I don’t back down from tests. Terri Harper, Katie Taylor (Chris) Namus, whoever it is! You know I’m not scared to step up and every time I’m asked to do that, it brings the best out of me.”

It’s abundantly clear that Jonas fears no woman in boxing. Her resume backs up these comments as she battled undisputed 135-pound champion Katie Taylor and arguably beat former 130-pound champion Terri Harper. So, while she may be giving up the physical advantages, she’s coming to bring the fight to Berghult in hopes of becoming a unified champion.
