Jose Ramirez – Viktor Postol Set For August
Unified junior welterweight champion Jose Ramirez (25-0, 17KOs) will finally square off with WBC mandatory and former WBC junior welterweight champion Viktor ”The Iceman” Postol (31-2, 12KOs). The two were scheduled to fight on two separate occasions. However, both dates were scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now with boxing back and operating, the long overdue fight will take place. Ramirez last fought in July of 2019. Then, he stopped Maurice Hooker (27-1-3, 18KOs) in seven rounds to unify the WBC and WBO titles. Postol last saw action on April 27, 2019 where he defeated Mohamed Mimoune (22-4, 3KOs) by way of a unanimous decision to become the WBC mandatory.
Postol has fought Lucas Matthysse, Terence Crawford and Josh Taylor. His skills and experience should make for an interesting fight. Ramirez ,who’s hungry to become undisputed, will have to be on his “A” game to avoid the upset.
There currently is no confirmed calendar date for the fight. 3kingsboxing.com will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
