Taylor to face Humberto Soto
Hot off of the heels of being the first man to ever stop Miguel Vazquez in November last year, Josh Taylor’s ascension in the world rankings seems to show no signs of slowing down.
Josh Taylor will headline a card at the SSE Hydro Arena in Glasgow, Scotland on March 3rdagainst 37 year old two weight world champion Humberto Soto. In a 21 year pro career Soto has held the WBC Super feather and lightweight titles, winning 66 of his 77 fights with 36 of his wins coming by way of knockout.
Taylor enjoyed a fantastic 2017, stopping the aforementioned Vazquez. As well as putting the rise of Ohara Davies firmly on the bricks. Taylor told local newspaper Courier Sport:
‘It’s going to be a great night and the first time I will have fought at the Hydro since winning the Commonwealth Games gold medal [in 2014].
The step up in quality of opponent is nothing short of admirable and shows a real ambition from Taylor and faith from his team at Cyclone promotions
Will Taylor step another step closer to the world title picture? Or will the man they call La Zorrita put a spanner in the works. Gentleman, may the best man win!
