As 3kingsboxing.com reported, world-ranked British light heavyweights Joshua Buatasi (17-0, 13 KOs) and Dan Azeez (20-0, 13 KOs) verbally agreed to face one another in a WBA light heavyweight world title eliminator. The way Buatsi sees it, look for the upcoming bout to produce plenty of fireworks. Speaking to Sky Sports, the 30-year-old from London, England, discussed what is on the line.
“It’s a very, very important fight. There’s a lot at stake, and the winner will go on to fight for a world title. I’m No. 1, he’s No. 2 in the WBA. One and two fight for the mandatory, it makes sense.”

FAMILIAR FOES
The two warriors are friends and have sparred hundreds of rounds against one another. Buatsi said they can still be friends after the fight. However, once the bell rings, their friendship goes out the window.
Azeez is a 33 year-old from London who is a physically strong pressure fighter. Buatsi is more of a stylist who is more athletic and prefers to set things up behind the jab.
Their duel is expected to take place in October. This fight is more than a world title eliminator. It’s also a significant matchup of fighters from the same hometown.
Tensions should be high on fight night. It’s a battle that Buatsi’s pumped up about in his pursuit to fight for a world championship.
“People know how Dan fights; people know how I fight. […] I think however it works out, the fans are going to be in for a good fight.”
