Anthony Joshua: “I’ve Got a Lot Of Things To Say About Wilder!”

Unified Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (23-1, 21 KO’s) has been doing a whole lot of talking recently.

First, Joshua was challenging WBC world Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (30-0-1, 21 KO’s) to a fight during an exclusive interview with Sky Sports. Now He has something to say to former WBC world Heavyweight titleholder Deontay Wilder (42-1-1, 41 KOs).

During a sit-down interview on Sports Illustrated’s SI Boxing With Chris Mannix podcast, Joshua had this alarming thing to say about Wilder.

“I went into my drawer and pulled out my long list of things to say. I’ve got a lot of things to say about Wilder.

“But you don’t knock a man when he’s down, also. And that was at the top of the list. I have to stand by those principles.

“But for sure, I think me and Wilder, as I say, are cut from a different cloth. He’s what we call… it begins with a ‘b’ and ends with a ‘h’. I’m not like that, I’m more of a man.”

DOES “AJ” HAVE A POINT?

All you have to do is look at Wilder’s own words, or his own tweets who immediately following Joshua’s June 1, 2019 loss to Andy Ruiz took to twitter with some stinging comments. Wilder in effect, accused Joshua of not being a real, legit world champion. He also went on to call Joshua a broken man and mentally done.

In Joshua’s mind when he was down Wilder didn’t spare a moment to pounce and belittle him. However, immediately after the Alabamian lost to Fury on February 22, the unified champ kept it cool and respectful…until these recent comments.

So can you blame or castigate Joshua for his clap-back? Some will accuse him of going out of character while others say he’s “standing on his square” and abiding by certain principles.

Whatever is the case, this clap-back from “AJ” will elicit quite the reaction from boxing fans for sure.
