Anthony Joshua would love to see a Tyson comeback

Unified heavyweight champion Anthony “AJ” Joshua (23-1, 21KOs) is the latest person to give his thoughts on “Iron” Mike Tyson coming back to boxing.

In an interview with British GQ, Joshua was asked about Tyson returning.

“This is what we breathe, this is what we are, especially someone like Iron Mike Tyson. That’s all that man knows. For everyone else it’s a comeback. But for him, it’s just what he does. He’s a fighter, right? He probably just took a little break, but for everyone else, like ‘oh my god Mike Tyson is making a comeback’. But for Mike Tyson, ‘This what I do. I’m a fighter by nature’. So If he’s back in the ring, then I’d love to see it. I’d definitely be one of the viewers for sure.”

Having not fought since 2005, Tyson’s announcement of a comeback for a charity bout has reminded us of just how huge a figure he still is in boxing. The fact that everyone has chimed in with their opinion, good or bad, and boxers and UFC fighters wanting to get in the ring with the man who was once hailed “the baddest man on the planet” shows everyone that the drawing power and excitement is still there.

Count Joshua in as one of those who would tune in to see “Iron” Mike Tyson back in the ring, even if it’s only for a four round exhibition.
