3KingsBoxing.com has learned that former unified junior welterweight champion Julius Indongo has signed a promotional agreement with Lou DiBella and DiBella Entertainment.
Indongo, of Namibia, was last in the ring back in August when fought Terence Crawford for the undisputed junior welterweight championship. Crawford made quick work of Indongo when he landed a body shot to stop him in the third round.
Prior to the Crawford, the Namibian native ventured to Moscow and was unflinching in knocking out Eduard Troyanovsky in the first round on Dec. 3 to capture the IBF belt in a fight he was a huge underdog.
After stopping Troyanovsky he immediately signed for a unification fight against WBA champion Ricky Burns. In April of last year, he went to Glasgow, in World Boxing Assn. champion Ricky Burns’ home country of Scotland, and dominated in a unanimous-decision triumph.
After defeating Troyanovsky and Burns back to back he stepped up once again to face WBC & WBO champion Crawford in his second consecutive unification fight, a rarity in today’s boxing landscape. Although he lost to the Omaha native, Indongo certainly put his name on the radar.
