Kerman Lejarraga to Hit the Comeback Trail Once More

The road to regaining your position in boxing can be difficult. Taking a devastating loss only makes things even harder. Junior middleweight Kerman “Revolver” Lejarraga (34-3, 26KO) is about to travel such a rough road again.

THE ROAD TO RECOVERY

Revolver is looking to reenter the win column after suffering a shocking upset defeat by James Metcalf on May 20. This defeat cost him his #4 WBA and #10 WBO ranking. Furthermore, Metcalf walked off with the vacant WBA Continental minor title that hung in the balance.

Lejarraga is no stranger to mounting comebacks. Top welterweight contender David Avanesyan previously blunted his run towards the top with a devastating knockout in 2019. The Revolver failed two attempts at capturing the EBU European welterweight crown and decided to test the waters at junior middleweight.

Lejarraga enjoyed a nice run climbing the ranks and became the main event attraction for Spanish crowds at Bilbao Arena. He found success by capturing the EBU European junior middleweight title and started gaining the attention of the boxing community with wins over undefeated fighters Dylan Charrat and Jack Flatley.

According to the WBA organization, Lejarraga is looking to return to the scene of his defeat in La Casilla, Bilbao on November 12. It will be interesting to see if he can put that defeat behind him and start making the climb back.
