Keyshawn Davis Issues A Challenge To Team Teofimo Lopez
Lightweight contender Keyshawn “The Businessman” Davis (10-0, 7KO) is willing to go up to junior welterweight for a shot at the WBO champion Teofimo “The Takeover” Lopez (20-1, 13KO).
It all started when Davis backed two-divisional undisputed champion Terence Crawford to beat Lopez if they were to fight. The Takeover didn’t like the comment and decided to fire back.
A video on social media went viral of the two fighters discussing the situation as they ultimately resolved their differences. So, fans shouldn’t be surprised at what happened next.
HE WANTS TO FIGHT THE CHAMPION
After scoring an impressive knockout stoppage over two-divisional champion Jose Pedraza, Davis wasted little time calling out his fellow stablemate.
“Teofimo has been doing a lot of talking lately. I’ll go up to 140 and fight Teofimo. What’s up! He gets a win tonight, Teofimo you already know how I’m coming, you and your father.”
The Virginian was far from done. After witnessing Lopez win a controversial decision over Jaimane Ortiz, Davis went on a rant while being interviewed by FighHype.
“It’s going to be me that knocks Teo off, trust me. He is not tough, he’s not that good. He don’t understand distance. . .he can not fight a smart boxer, I’m one of them. . . Teo can get it.”
In 2023, Davis separated himself from the rest of the pack and has quickly gone from a prospect to a legit title contender. In addition, he is completely focused after overcoming personal issues following a positive test for marijuana.
The Business is serious about becoming a world champion and whether it’s Lopez or any other champion, he wants to challenge for a title in 2024.
