Adam Kownacki will look to get his 20th win against veteran Chris Arreola!
3kingsboxing has learned a bout between heavyweights Adam Kownacki (19-0, 15 KO’s) and Chris “The Nightmare” Arreola (38-5, 33 KO’s) is set for August 3 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
Being a Polish fighter, Kownacki has managed to secure a strong Brooklyn following. Known for having a strong Polish community, eight of Kownacki’s his last ten prizefights were hosted at the Barclays Center with a high turnout from local fans.
Many within the industry believe if Kownacki can maintain his winning ways he is on a collision course with WBC heavyweight champion Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder.
Across the ring, one time serious contender Chris Arreola will look to remain in the win column. “The Nightmare” is on a two fight win streak since suffering his 2016 eighth round knockout loss to Wilder.
After a two year hiatus in professional limbo while contemplating retirement, Arreola returned to action late in 2018 with a knockout victory over Maurezo Smith (20-10, 13 KO’s). However, it was his third round knockout win over undefeated prospect Jean Pierre Augustin on March 16 that breathed new life into his career!
Arreola will step into the ring for this bout with new trainer Joe Goossen. It will be their first professional outing since parting ways with former trainer Henry Remirez. Arreola had been trained by Ramirez for his entire career.
