Hiroto Kyoguchi vs Tanawat Nakoon: Title Bout Set!

Earlier this year 3KingsBoxing reported Aston Palicte and Kazuto Ioka will fight June 19 in Tokyo for the vacant WBO super flyweight title. The fight will be aired stateside on the UFC Fight Pass streaming service.

Now we also learned another world title fight will take place on the under-card.

Hiroto Kyoguchi (12-0, 9KO), the current WBA light flyweight title holder and lineal champion has also been added to the card. He will make his first defense against Tanawat Nakoon (11-0, 5KO) of Thailand.

Kyoguchi is fighter on the rise and a name to keep an eye on when it comes to the little giants. A former IBF minimumweight champion, the 25 year-old moved up in weight and stopped then WBA and lineal champion Hekkie Budler in ten rounds on New Years Eve in Macau, China.

While undefeated the 26 year-old southpaw Nakoon is largely untested and unproven. In fact among his eleven previous fights, Nakoon has fought only four opponents with winning records!

Yet in spite of a less than stellar resume, the challenger is currently ranked #12 in the WBA rankings. To say this is a step up for the Thai fighter would be a big understatement!

Kyoguchi vs Nakoon will also be televised by UFC Fight Pass as part of the Palicte vs Ioka card. That means that for many U.S. fight fans, this will be their first opportunity to see the exciting, hard-hitting Japanese phenom for the first time!
