Lawrence Okolie confident in power ahead of Krzysztof Glowacki WBO title fight!
Unbeaten cruiserweight contender Lawrence “The Sauce” Okolie (15-0, 12KOs) will take a major step up in his very first world title fight. He will be taking on former WBO Cruiserweight champion Krzysztof “Glowka” Glowacki (31-2, 19KOs) on March 20. The two will be fighting for the vacant WBO title. While inexperienced on the world level, that has not stopped the tall and rangy Britt from expressing belief that his power will see him to victory.
These two men were originally set to meet on December 12, 2020. However, Glowacki tested positive for COVID-19, resulting in the postponement of the fight.

While he did not flat out predict a knockout win over Glowacki, he will not be surprised one bit by a knockout victory. Talking to Behind The Gloves, he said the following ahead of his matchup the Poland hard-hitter.
“Uh, I don’t know about just walking in there and breezing through him because it’s a trained fighter. But I definitely have the power to stop him. You know it may not be one shot – he’s gone, but I definitely you know, an accumulation of any twenty-second burst, I have the power to hurt him, probably.”
This bout is intriguing for a number of reasons. While Okolie is unbeaten, he has not been overly impressive as of late. He has a habit of holding and not letting his hands go, which oftentimes produces a less-than-appealing fight. While he is tall (6’5), rangy, and athletic, he does not always use his physical gifts. Against Glowacki, he is going to have to display a much improved offensive showing and overall ring IQ, especially if he wants to get the knockout victory as well as the WBO title.
As for Glowacki, he comes into this fight with a wealth of experience at the championship level. He has been in the ring with the likes of former long-reigning WBO Cruiserweight champion Marco Huck, former champions Steve Cunningham, Oleksandr Usyk, Maris Bredis and contender Maxim Vlasov. He has not fought since 2019, where he lost to Bredis in three rounds in their WBSS matchup. So, that will be something to look out for come March 20.
