Lewis Crocker Picks Up The Win Over Conah Walker
In a domestic-level welterweight showdown, Lewis “The Croc” Crocker (20-0, 11KO) took the WBA minor title away from Conah “Wolf” Walker (13-3-1, 5KO).
Wolf came out with a look of determination as he fought off the front foot looking to hit anything. He landed uppercuts and solid shots to the body.
The Croc wasn’t fazed and began finding a home for those righthands and body shots. In addition, his counter-punching was on point as he took advantage of Walker’s lack of head movement.
In the middle rounds, Crocker controlled the fight with jabs, and righthand combinations, interrupting the forward pressure of Walker.
The eighth round brought the fans to their feet as the war they came to see broke out. Croc and Wolf exchanged hard shots that buckled each other’s legs.
Despite being deducted a point in the ninth round, Walker started to crack his opponent and attacked like a man possessed. Yet, Crocker fired back with left hooks and hard righthands.
When the judges’ cards were tallied, two of them saw it 96-93, with one scoring it 95-94 in favor of Crocker.
