Commonwealth middleweight champion Liam Cameron fails a substance abuse test.
Here’s a shocking revelation! Cameron (21-5, 9KO) has tested positive for a ‘cocaine-style’ drug test. Testers red-flagged a sample following his recent title defense stoppage of Nicky Jenman in April.
Cameron, 27, won the Commonwealth title by defeating Sam Sheedy, back in October. Vacate or be stripped is the choice he has to make now after getting his boxing license suspended.
This comes at a bad time for the Sheffield native. After suffering a disappointing loss in 2016, he was given another opportunity for the Commonwealth strap. Currently ranked 12th by the IBF, he also has a two fight win streak under his belt.
It is worth noting that Cameron has responded to these allegations in which he proclaims his innocence. He also plans on presenting proof once a scheduled hearing takes place.
