Teofimo Lopez Expects to Knockout Jose Pedraza!
Come December 10, super lightweight fighter Teofimo “Take Over” Lopez (17-1, 13 KO’s) will return to action at Madison Square Garden. In that duel, Lopez will test his might against savvy veteran Jose “Sniper” Pedraza (29-4-1, 14 KO’s). The match will mark the first time that Take Over has competed twice in one year since 2019. Not only is he looking to stay active, in this next encounter, Lopez is confident that he will make another serious statement, as he explained to Fight Hype.
“The knockout is going to come. You don’t ever really have to look for a knockout. It will eventually come, whether it takes a little bit more time, but it’ll come and I feel like that is really what’s going to happen between myself and Pedraza. I’m not counting Pedraza out, he’s a guy that comes at you and he boxes at the same time. He switches stances; he knows how to fight orthodox, he knows how to fight southpaw very well. So those are the things – I don’t believe I’ve ever faced someone who knows how to do both. So I am really looking forward to that kind of match-up.”
For his part, Pedraza will be trying to change his luck when he gets in the ring versus Lopez. This is because Sniper is coming off a split draw to Richard Commey and that was preceded by a unanimous decision loss to Jose Carlos Ramirez. Despite this lull in successful outings, Pedraza could really alter his destiny for the better if he bested Teofimo Lopez on December 10. Yet, for the time being, we will all just have to wait patiently to see how this duel resolves itself. The only thing known for sure is that a loss will hurt the loser significantly!
