Teofimo Lopez and George Kambosos moved to June 19

Well it seems likely that WBA Super, IBF and WBO World Lightweight champion Teofimo “Take Over” Lopez (16-0, 12 KO’s) and “Ferocious” George Kambosos (19-0, 10 KO’s) will have to wait a little longer for their showdown. Originally, they were slated to go to battle on June 5. Yet, now, their duel has officially been moved to June 19.

One of the more notable aspects of this bout was the fact that Triller Fight Club won the purse bid and the right to host the event. Triller has made a great deal of noise in the boxing world lately. They have accomplished this by airing spectacle events such as Roy Jones Jr versus Mike Tyson and the more recent Jake Paul versus Ben Askren fight. Each of these massive events were loaded to the gills with celebrity guests and musical performances.

MOVE ASIDE

Apparently, the organization does not want anything distracting from their upcoming show. With this being the case, Triller Fight Club thought it most prudent to move the Lopez v Kambosos card due to the upcoming Floyd “Money” Mayweather versus Jake Paul fight. The former boxing cash cow will return to the ring to fight YouTube sensation Jake Paul on June 6. Rather than clashing with such a huge extravaganza, it would be easier to simply reschedule.

In the co-main event, WBC and WBO World Super Middleweight champion Franchon Crews-Dezurn (7-1, 2 KO’s) will face WBA and IBF World Super Middleweight champion Elin Cederroos (8-0, 4 KO’s). This bout is made all the more notable as it will crown the undisputed champion of the division. Crews-Dezurn publicly called for the bout when conducting an interview on the Claressa Shields vs Marie-Eve Dicaire telecast. Obviously the feeling was mutual as just a four short months later the two fistic-minded females will put all their hardware on the line.
