Luis Alberto Lopez Predicts a Stoppage Win Over Joet Gonzalez

On September 15, reigning IBF featherweight champion Luis Alberto “El Venado” Lopez (28-2, 16 KOs) takes on Joet Gonzalez (26-3, 15 KOs)at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. The defending champion is confident that Gonzalez will not make it to the final bell.

Lopez won the IBF title in December 2022 with a majority decision victory over Josh Warrington. His last outing was a fifth-round stoppage over Michael Conlan in May 2023.

READY TO TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS

Gonzalez is tough, durable, and hungry to win his third shot at a world title. During a press conference with the boxing media, El Venado said he doesn’t expect an easy night at the office but feels he has more than enough to prevail against Gonzalez.

“It will be a total war between two Mexicans. Every time two Mexicans get in the ring, it’s a real war. I have made it my mission to knock him out . . . My goal is to knock him out.”

Fighting in front of what should be a passionate crowd in Corpus Christi, both combatants promised to give it their all on fight night. But Lopez is determined to leave the ring with the belt wrapped around his waist. He fights for his family and his country of Mexico and feels that losing is not an option.
