Teofimo Lopez gets a one-punch knockout in Brooklyn

Teofimo Lopez is one of the most exciting prospects in boxing today. Shortly after his win over William Silva in July, he had surgery on his hand from an injury suffered during the bout.

His return against Mason Menard on paper would be his toughest fight to date. Additionally, it would a fight where he would test his hand.

As soon as the bell rang, Lopez attack Menard, landing a shot that put him immediately on his bicycle. Before Menard could get comfortable, Lopez lands a chopping right hand that knocks him out before he hits the canvas.

As he went down, his body started to twitch. The twitching immediately prompted the referee to stop his count and wave the fight off.

Menard would rise to his feet, but could not leave the ring on his own. 3kingsboxing.com hopes he does not endure any long term effects of this knockout.

Meanwhile, Lopez improves to 11-0 with 9 knockouts and is starting to become a wildcard in a loaded lightweight division.
