Montana Love is Looking to End The Year with a Bang!

2021 has been a great year for flamboyant super lightweight boxer Montana “Too Pretty” Love (16-0-1, 8 KO’s). During the busy year, Love, 26, has been able to stage three fights and is currently sliding into his fourth. During his last session in the squared-circle, Too Pretty collected the scalp of Ivan Baranchyk. The win, an exciting seventh round knockout, was the most significant and accomplished victory of his career.

Looking to strike when the iron was hot, the Cleveland native quickly finagled his way into a three-fight contract with DAZN. If given his way, this next trio of prizefights would springboard him into a long-term contract. If also given his way, Love would have ended the year fighting either undisputed super lightweight champion Josh Taylor or regular WBA super lightweight champion Gervonta Davis. Those were the pair of names that he called out in the wake of this win over Baranchyk.

Instead, Love will take on Carlos “Chuko” Diaz (29-1, 14 KO’s). The two will collide on the undercard of Devin Haney versus Joseph Diaz. Too Pretty, who ranks #12 with the IBF, is the favorite to win the dustup and continue to raise his standings.

Seven months ago, when last in the ring, Chuko was saddled with a ‘no contest’ after clocking Elvis Torres with an unintentional blow to the back of the head. When Diaz slides through the ropes to dance with Love, it will mark his first prizefight contested outside of his native Mexico. It will be interesting to see how Love handles himself with the public spotlight on him growing consistently brighter.
