Erickson Lubin Expects to Command All Aspects of his Fight Against Luis Arias

Super welterweight Erickson “The Hammer” Lubin (24-2, 17 KO’s) will snap over a year’s worth of inactivity on June 24. On that date, Lubin will go to war with Luis Arias (20-3-1, 9 KO’s), who has also been out of action for more than one calendar year. Unlike Arias however, The Hammer will enter the ring coming off a thrilling but deflating knockout loss to Sebastian Fundora. Understandably, as he explained to Fight Hub TV, Lubin is itching to show that not only has he not regressed, but that he’s improved.

“A lot of people don’t bounce back from fights like this . . . once I am back, I’m back! . . . I got one of the best trainers [Kevin Cunningham] in boxing ever and he is able to see that in the gym and he sees that I am back and he knows that I am even better. We get better every fight!”

TIME TO SHOW AND PROVE!

Despite his loss, Lubin is ranked #6 (WBC) and looking to climb further up the ladder. This is precisely why a win over Arias would be a very good look. By the same token, Arias is not ranked in the top 15 of any of the four major sanctioning bodies. So, of course he’s foaming at the mouth for this win as it just may get him back in the front running. Losing is not something on The Hammer’s mind, however. In fact, he plans on having a very one-sided fight.

“We both had some words on Twitter and now it’s time to back that shit up! . . . I don’t think he is on my level, I feel like I am the faster fighter. I feel like I am stronger than he is, I feel like my IQ is better than his, so I’ll be able to dictate on Saturday night. Dictate what I want to do and how I want to do it!”

The challenge has been laid. All that is left to do is see who is the better man on fight night. Thankfully, no matter how the action plays out, 3Kings Boxing will be here to report the news.
