Neil Marsh Says Crawford v Avanesyan Fight Was Easy to Make!
Boxing fans all over had their dreams crushed when unbeaten WBO 147-pound champion Terence “Bud” Crawford (38-0, 29KOs) announced he would be facing top contender David Avanesyan (29-3-1, 17KOs) instead of unified welterweight champion Errol Spence (28-0, 22KOs). As most know, both Crawford and Spence were engaged in extended negotiations.
With the dust now starting to settle, fight fans must now turn their attention to Crawford versus Avanesyan. There is something short of a crazed mob eager to see this fight. However, if you follow the sport, you’d know just how dangerous Avanesyan is. Besides that, most want to know how this fight came to fruition.
Avanesyan’s manager, Neil Marsh, told Fight Hype the following:
“Just very quickly, man. It’s: ‘do you want the fight? Yeah!’ Queensberry Promotions agreed to a few terms. If I was to put my opinion on it, I think Crawford’s side got tired and Terence wanted to fight. They haven’t disclosed anything, but it’s that we’re moving on from the obvious fight that everyone has been discussing. ‘Do you want this fight?’ Damn right we do!”
For Avanesyan, who’s ranked #6 (WBO), #8 (IBF) and #4 (WBC), he finally gets the world title opportunity he’d been seeking. For Crawford, he gets to get a fight in before he and Spence likely fight in 2023.
