Eddie Hearn adds Joseph Parker to the team!
Former WBO Heavyweight champion Joseph Parker has signed a three-fight deal with Matchroom Boxing and will face Eric Molina in his debut on DAZN.
Parker’s career has taken a downward spiral since losing the WBO title to unified champion Anthony Joshua. In addition, a follow up loss to top contender Dillian Whyte in his very next fight didn’t make matters better.
His last fight went unknown to many within the boxing community back in 2018. Then, he gained a victory over American prospect Alexander Flores by knockout in three rounds. Things didn’t look promising, however, this signing can have a significant effect on his career for the better.
Parker is still a top ten rated fighter with a name that has value in a loaded division. The first step towards getting his career back on track will start now!
Hearn has already indicated that if victorious in all three bouts, a rematch with Joshua is a possibility. Also, it’s worth noting that the former champion is rated #6 and #13 by the WBC and IBF respectively.
The road to redemption begins June 29 on the under-card of WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade’s second title defense against Maciej Sulecki at the Dunkin Donuts Center, Providence, Rhode Island.
