Lucas Matthysse calls it a career!
Lucas Matthysse has decided to retire after suffering a ninth round KO loss Manny Pacquiao in July.
While his career didn’t end the way he would have liked, he still gave the sport some everlasting memories.
Matthysse scored some highlight reel victories throughout his career. Names like Lamont Peterson, Humberto Soto, John Molina Jr, the then avoided Ajose Olesegun and many others have succumbed to his power.
His victory over Ruslan Provodnikov displayed his underrated boxing ability in a fight most thought would be a barn burner.
In addition, he shared the ring with popular fighters like Danny Garcia, Devon Alexander and Zab Judah. Loses against the latter two were highly controversial.
When it’s all said and done, Matthysse will be forever known as the machine with the ability to get you out of there with one punch.
