Jessica McCaskill vs Sandy Ryan Unification Fight Signed
For her next fight, unified welterweight champion Jessica “CasKilla” McCaskill (12-3, 5 KO’s) will take on WBO welterweight champion Sandy “Medieval” Ryan (6-1, 2 KO’s). It would be a much needed win given that after dropping down in weight versus Chantelle Cameron, McCaskill would suffer a unanimous decision loss. The bout will happen on September 23 at the Casino Royale Orlando in Orlando, Florida
This will mark the first prizefight of the year for CasKilla, who signed a new contract with Matchroom boxing. Obviously, McCaskill, 38, has every intention of prevailing in the upcoming contest. If victorious, she would likely want a shot at the winner of the impending showdown between Natasha Jonas and Kandi Wyatt. Jonas and Wyatt will collide this July 1 for the IBF welterweight title that McCaskill was stripped of.
BRICK WALL OR STILL SMOOTH SAILING?
For her part Ryan, 29, has maintained a consistent incline in the sport since her debut just two years ago. In this relatively short period of time, Medieval has racked up two knockouts, avenged her only split decision loss to Erica Farias, as well as collected the International WBC super lightweight and WBO welterweight titles. A win over McCaskill at this point in her career would be a major feather in the UK fighter’s cap.
