Mikaela Mayer Calls Out Lauren Price For Undisputed Showdown
In their bad-blood rematch, WBO welterweight champion Mikaela Mayer (21-2, 5 KO’s) defeated Sandy Ryan (7-3-1, 3KO) by unanimous decision. Now, Mayer claims it’s time for an undisputed showdown with unified champion Lauren Price (9-0, 2KO)
Rather than rehash another nitpick battle, Mayers used versatility, grit, and a volley of heavy shots to dominate Ryan. Feeling she has fully settled into the division, the WBO champion wants to be undisputed.
In the post-interview, she made it a point to call out Price.
“I wanted to give Sandy the rematch because it was a great fight, it warranted a rematch … so we did that, but I beat Sandy twice now it’s time for me to move on and go for undisputed which is Lauren Price!”
Price is fresh off a dominant victory over Natasha Jonas on March 7. Furthermore, Lauren has expressed wanting the winner of Mayer vs Ryan, making the fight should be easy considering both champions are officially available and eager to get it on.
Thus far in her career, Mikaela Mayer has been serious about taking on tough, top opposition, so it will be fun to see what she’d do with Price.
