Anthony Joshua makes an offer to Jarrell Miller for June 1
It appears Jarrell Miller (23-0-1, 20KO) might get the big fight he craves against unified champion Anthony Joshua (22-0, 21KO). If an agreement is reached, the fight will take place at Madison Square Garden (MSG) and will serve as Joshua’s US debut.
The original plan was for the UK champion to fight in his backyard at Wembley stadium on April 13. Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn has had difficulty securing an opponent for that date. Furthermore, Joshua expressed his interest in fighting at MSG after sitting ringside for Canelo Alvarez vs Rocky Fielding. He mentioned on air that he may have to think about when his return will be since he really enjoyed the New York atmosphere.
Hearn originally wanted to secure an opponent by the second week of January. That goal has yet to materialize due to the top contenders he has pursued declining offers presented. As of the writing of this article, WBC champion Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury seem to be close to finalizing a deal for a rematch. Therefore, they are not considered viable options.
Dillian Whyte turned down Hearn’s initial offers, although, a new agreement is reported to be pending. However, new information indicates that Joshua is leaning more towards making his US debut.
American boxing fans have been eagerly awaiting an opportunity to see the unified champion on US soil. Lets see if Miller accepts the offer!
