Brooklyn’s own Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (22-0-1, 19KOs) takes on Bogdan Dinu (18-0, 14KOs) of Romania in a heavyweight collision.
Make no mistake about it, Jarrell Miller feels he should be fighting one of the more meaningful names in the heavyweight division. The charismatic New Yorker has voiced his desire to take on Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder to no avail.
While he knows he can’t force those guys to fight him, their reluctance confirms what he’s always believed about himself. Nevertheless, sitting around and waiting for a specific opponent is never in a fighter’s best interest. A title shot will come, eventually.
In the meantime, fights with Tomasz Adamek, Johann Duhaupas, and Mariusz Wach may not be noteworthy, but they are necessary.
Jarrell Miller
While possibly not for the right reasons, Miller is an impressive heavyweight. Additionally, his trash talk and power punches are customary of what you would expect from any brash boxer in his position. What impresses me most about him, is his weight when he steps onto the scales before a competition.
Weighing-in as high as three-hundred-seventeen pounds and still competing in a sport like boxing is commendable. He never appears hampered by the weight which lends credit to his alias “Big Baby.”
In his last outing, Miller took on Tomasz Adamek. From the start of the first round, the wily polish veteran never posed much of a threat. Mainly looking to survive, it wouldn’t take long for the giant heavyweight to land a blistering combination to end his night.
Advice to Miller:
Impress us! Show another wrinkle in your game; defense wouldn’t hurt.
Bogdan Dinu
Outside his country of Romania, not too many fans know the undefeated boxer. He will be making his American debut and looks to upset the applecart.
Although Dinu’s record lacks significant competition, his lateral movement and hand speed could exploit Miller’s defensive holes. He also has decent power in both hands, which should create more of a fight than what many expect.
Advice to Dinu:
Stick to your game plan. Miller is extremely flatfooted and walks into punches.
Outcome:
Miller wins by KO!
