Montana Love To Take On Steve Spark In Hometown Showdown!
On November 12, super lightweight fighter Montana “Too Pretty” Love (18-0-1, 9 KO’s) will be fighting at home. In that contest, Too Pretty will return home, specifically the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse located in Cleveland, Ohio, to take on Steve “The Viking” Spark (15-2, 14 KO’s). Love will be looking to provide a rough and inhospitable welcome for Spark, 26, who will be fighting in the states for the first time. The victor will walk away with the WBA inter-continental 140-pound strap.
The last time that the Cleveland native fought in his backyard, he took on Ivan Baranchyk in an exciting duel. Despite Baranchyk being his stiffest competition to date, Too Pretty was able to get rid of him in the seventh round. Even better, Love, 27, was able to flip the victory into a promotional contract with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing.
The Viking will mark the third fighter that Love has competed against since aligning himself with Matchroom. Yet, Too Pretty will certainly be looking to entertain the crowd. This was certainly not the case when he last plied his dangerous trade versus Gabriel Valenzuela. While he did walk away with the win, it sadly was one dreary affair. At the same time, Love, who is ranked #6 (IBF) and #13 (WBC), can’t allow himself to be sucked into a war simply for the sake of the fans. Especially since only one of Spark’s defeated opponents have heard the final bell! So let’s see how it all plays out on fight night!
