Jelena Mrdjenovich Returns June 22!

3kingsboxing has learned unified featherweight female champion Jelena Mrdjenovich will be returning to the ring this summer.

The 36 year-old Canadian is one of the long standing pioneers for women’s boxing. Her career spans over sixteen years in the sport with multiple titles in different divisions.

The champion’s impressive resume includes names like Mia St. John, Fujin Raika and Layla McCarter. Her notable bouts also include former WBA welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse’s sister, Edith Soledad Matthysse and three intense fights with Melissa Hernandez.

As for Hernandez, she holds a victory over exciting prospect Selina Barrios from this past April.

After a very long layoff, the veteran fighter will finally return. Her absence of over a year will end when she competes in front of a hometown crowd for her remarkable 51st fight.

This bout is scheduled to take place at the Shaw Conference Centre, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on June 22nd.
