Emanuel Navarrete crushes Juan Miguel Elorde In 4!
After a slow start in his third title defense, Emanuel Navarrete would quickly pick up the pace.
The challenger Juan Miguel Elorde came out in the opening stanza as the aggressor, he would press the action trying to get the respect of the champion early, who elected to just pick his shots.
The next two plus rounds would show why there’s a big buzz and excitement surrounding the WBO super bantamweight champion. After finally getting into a rhythm Navarrete would turn the pressure all the way up.
In the midway point of round two Navarrete would catch Elorde with a hard left hand that would hurt him and set in motion the punishing conclusion.
Round three saw even more punishment as it was open season on the challenger as the champion would score a knockdown by way of the ropes keeping the out gunned challenger on his feet with a bone crushing left hook.
One final stand by the challenger wouldn’t last long as he came out in the fourth round landing a nice right hand.
Navarrete would land two thudding punches, that would stun Elorde and cause the referee to jump in and call a halt to the action.
Navarrete improves his record to (29-1, 25KOs) and now puts himself in position to unify the titles at 122.
It’s safe to say Emanuel Navarrete is one of the most exciting young fighters in the sport today.
