Kamshybek Kunkabayev defeats Server Emurlaev in six!


Rising Kazakhstan star Kamshybek Kunkabayev (3-0, 3KO) won the first title of his professional career after defeating Server Emurlaev (23-2, 8KO) to claim the vacant WBO Asia Pacific cruiserweight title. He was competing on a huge #MTKFightNight taking place at the Tynyshpayev Academy of Transport and Communications in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Broadcasted live in the US on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank, and worldwide on IFL TV.

In just his third professional fight, Kunkabayev was in control throughout, forcing Emurlaev to retire at the end of the sixth round. It is the latest big win for the Khazak. His three opponents as professional so far having a combined record of 50-8. This shows how quickly he wants to progress in the paid ranks.

Elsewhere on the card, Nurtas Azhbenov (11-0, 4 KOs) also won the first title of his career. He defeated Evgeny Smirnov (13-2-3, 3 KOs) by unanimous decision to win the vacant WBC Asian Continental lightweight title.

Talghat Shayken (4-0, 2 KOs) picked up a very impressive win in defeating Evgeny Pavko (18-4-1, 13 KOs) on points after eight rounds. Meanwhile, there was a huge fifth round knockout win for Abay Tolesh (7-1, 5 KOs) against Vasily Shytk (2-3, 2 KOs).
