Luis Nery vs McJoe Arroyo set on the under-card of Errol Spence vs Mikey Garcia

Former WBC bantamweight champion Luis Nery will make his 2019 and PBC debut against McJoe Arroyo on the under-card of Errol Spence vs Mikey Garcia.

Nery, one of the best fighters in the lower weight classes, has had his fair share of controversy due to failed drug tests. However, he’s looking to put all that in the past entering 2019.

Arroyo (18-2, 8KO) held the IBF super flyweight title briefly in 2015. He won that vacant crown defeating Arthur Villanueva via technical decision. He then would lose the title in his next fight against one of the more popular super flyweights today, Jerwin Ancajas.

This fight should showcase where both men are respectively in their careers. A win for Nery would put him in position for a title opportunity sometime in 2019. As for Arroyo, a win would more than likely grant him another fight against a quality name fighter.

As of now, there are rumblings the fight is set. Conversely, there are reports that the fight has not been finalized. Hopefully, things will be set in motion as this has the potential to bean excellent under-card bout!
