NutraBio CEO Responds to Ryan Garcia’s Ostarine Claims
NutraBio CEO Mark Glazier has fired back at “King Ry” Ryan Garcia (25-1, 20KO) for claiming their product tested positive for Ostarine. Ostarine is one of the drugs that was flagged in Garcia’s system prior to his fight with WBC junior welterweight champion Devin Haney.
Garcia’s legal team rocked the boxing community by pointing the finger at NutraBio and Body Health for selling contaminated supplements that caused his failed drug test. They used this evidence to proclaim that he never intentionally took the banned substance. In addition, they requested that his suspension shouldn’t be any more than four months. Garcia’s supporters are using this as vindication that their fighter has always been clean.
NOT SO FAST
According to Fox News Digital, Mr. Glazier has refuted any claims that their products contained the banned substance.
“NutraBio has never manufactured a supplement with Ostarine and has never brought Ostarine into our manufacturing facility. We have a long-standing commitment to producing the highest-quality supplements, trusted by athletes worldwide.”
It was Garcia’s responsibility to inform VADA (Voluntary Anti-Doping Association) before taking any supplements. It is a fact that the agency posted on its social media in response to this situation.
There is something that fans and pundits have to remember: not a single word has come from NYSAC (New York State Athletic Commission) or any of the governing sanction bodies. As of the writing of this article, Garcia is unranked by any of the organizations in any weight class.
It is worth noting that his boxing license hasn’t been suspended. This means he could end up fighting, just not for a title right now. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, as the rollercoaster is far from over.
